Nothing says “good news” as much as an email entitled “Congratulations” with strict instructions not to say a word to anyone until the official press release in mid April.

Today at 11 a.m. that press release finally happened, leaving me free to announce that I am one of the finalists of Rovinj Photodays 2016!

*thunderous applause*
*crowd goes wild*

Rovinj Photodays (Croatia) has been around since 2008, and has grown into one of the biggest photography festivals of Southeast Europe. It attracts many renowned photographers who keep the bar high to reach. My project on abandoned homes, Dulcis Domus, has been awarded 2nd place in its category, architecture.

The festival is on from the 6th until the 8th of May, and you can see all 5 of my photos in Rovinj’s Heritage Museum, along with the rest of the finalists. Every single selected project this year reflects the contemporary aesthetics and brings to light many social issues we have witnessed in the past year. Honoured to be in the company of giants.
