I let those words sink in as I was scrolling down the winner’s page, suddenly seeing my name. Twice.
Earlier that night I saw that the winners were announced, but there was no email in my inbox informing me I was one of them. Hopes were low. Until a familiar thumbnail suddenly appeared, indicating 1st place in Interiors, 2nd place for the whole Architecture category, and a place among those selected for exhibition. Cue shock and disbelief. Throw in a fair amount of shaking. Rinse and repeat, to the bemusement of all cohabitants.

Each year, MIFA attracts professional and non-professional photographers from all over the world, who are drawn to the prestige that comes with being selected. My own feelings can be summed up with – honoured, excited, and a whole lot emotional.
